Strengthen the Core Mission and Spiritual Care Our Spiritual Care team continues to suppor t our caregivers as well as our patients. As family members struggled with not being able to visit their loved one during the pandemic because of the state mandated visitation policies, the spiritual care team provided ways to facilitate face-time videos and Zoom calls between patients and their loved ones. Tea for the Soul continues to be a sacred time of comfor t and renewal for our caregivers. A request from a caregiver who is a council member on the Chief Executive Caregiver Experience Advisory Council was to have spiritual care provide in-house suppor t at night especially with the increased stressors of the COVID-19 pandemic on both caregivers and our patients. During the months of October, November, and December, our spiritual care team answered that call and provided 24/7 in house coverage. They continue to be on-call 24/7 and are a welcome presence during these challenging times. Standing with our Colleagues Our caregivers came out to acknowledge and suppor t our Asian American and Pacific Islander (A API) colleagues and friends after the news in March that Asian Americans were among the victims of violence in multiple shooting incidents in the Atlanta area. At Providence, our values call us to speak the truth with courage and "to stand in solidarity with the most vulnerable among us, working to remove the causes of oppression and promoting justice for all." Providence stands with A API and Asian immigrant communities and condemns these acts of hatred and racism. What it means to Strengthen the Core Create a work experience where caregivers are developed, fulfilled and inspired to carry on the Mission Deliver safe, compassionate, high-value health care Make Providence St. Joseph Health the provider partner of choice in all our communities Steward our resources to improve operational earnings Foster community commitment to our Mission via philanthropy We will deliver outstanding, affordable health care, housing, education and other essential services to our patients and communities.
