Safety Excellence Award, placing in the Top 5% of
hospitals nationwide for the eighth year in a row
(2013-2020).
Lown Institute
Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center
San Pedro received a "Best Hospitals for America"
designation by Washington Monthly Magazine.
The magazine's "Best Hospitals for America"
rankings were issued in partnership with the Lown
Institute, a non-partisan health care think tank.
The designation's ranking is based on performance
in three categories: patient outcomes, civic
leadership and value of care. The Lown Institute
index is the first hospital ranking to also measure
value of care, racial and economic inclusivity, pay
equity and more.

share that San Pedro's Advanced Primar y Stroke
Center and Torrance's Comprehensive Stroke
Center were recognized by the American Heart
Association® with the Get with the Guidelines
Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. San Pedro
received Stroke and Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll and
Torrance received Stroke Elite Honor Roll and Type
2 Diabetes Honor Roll.
