PROVIDENCE | ESG REPORT | 29 INTRODUCTION ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIAL GOVERNANCE ABOUT US CAREGIVER DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION DEI strategic plan finalized Following more than 30 stakeholder engagement sessions involving more than 2,500 caregivers, Providence finalized our first systemwide DEI strategic plan in 2023. The plan, with its aspirational statement — "You Belong at Providence" — guides our work and shared commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across the entire Providence family of organizations. The three pillars of our DEI strategic plan: 1 | Promoting diversity, equity and inclusion 2 | Caring for each other and our communities 3 | Being courageous champions of change Leadership representation Providence is committed to prioritizing representation in leadership, with the understanding that diversity in background, thought, gender and ethnicity enables us to more effectively meet the needs of our communities. In 2023, we continued our efforts to recruit outstanding and diverse leaders. Impact Workforce Commitment signed In May 2023, Providence signed onto the Healthcare Anchor Network's Impact Workforce Commitment. This public commitment demonstrates and reinforces our dedication to building healthy and equitable local economies through our hiring and workforce development programs and policies.
