Letter from the Chief Executive
2021 was another unprecedented year. It was marked
by three major COVID-19 surges, a national shor tage
of healthcare personnel, and the need to, once again,
defer non-emergent procedures and surgeries. Despite these
challenges, we continued to prosper and have much to be thankful
for. We increased our community benefit in 2021, providing more
than 96.5 million dollars to community programs. We achieved
numerous recognitions and continued to see growth in our ser vice
lines at both ministries.
None of this would have been possible without our caregivers.
Thank you for all you do in ser vice to those who are most vulnerable
and for suppor ting our journey to recover y and renewal. I am
also inspired by the community suppor t our ministries continue
to receive. Their generosity provides us with meals, gift cards,
handwritten notes, and financial suppor t. We are incredibly blessed
to ser ve and be suppor ted by the South Bay community.
I am honored to ser ve the caregivers and physicians at Providence
Little Company of Mar y Medical Centers San Pedro and Torrance.
We have come together to suppor t our community and each other
and to provide compassionate and healing care to those in need.
Our 2021 Year in Review is one way to acknowledge and reflect on
the work we did as a team that significantly impacted the lives of
our caregivers, physicians, patients, and community at large. It
is a way for you to understand and be proud of how ever ything we
do is intricately woven into the work of our mission. We are truly
resilient, and as you read on the following pages you will find how
the work you do contributes to our success.
Garr y Olney, Chief Executive
