11 Providence shout-outs Congratulations to the following caregivers for truly living our Mission and exemplifying our Values. Patient Experience Recognizes Morgan Knutson The Providence Little Company of Mary Patient Experience team would like to recognize Morgan Knutson, PCU Charge Nurse Torrance for being an outstanding example of the behavior that enhances the care experience. Morgan is recognized for going above and beyond when realizing how tight and inflexible the hospital was for patient beds. On June 11, 2021 Morgan quickly thought to contact the physician for her patients discharge orders to ready her patient for discharge and free a patient bed. When Morgan got the approval for discharge, the final step was for her patient to get medications from the pharmacy with a fee. When Morgan found out that the patient did not have the proper form of payment, she used her own money to pay for part of the patient 's medications to not delay his discharge any further! Thank you, Morgan, for being an example of our mission and showing exceptional leadership by displaying our core values of compassion for and integrity. 2021 Academy Foundation Commission on Dietetic Registration Leadership Award Congratulations to Nidhee Batra, Clinical Nutrition Manager for receiving the 2021 Academy Foundation Commission on Dietetic Registration Leadership Award. July 2020 DAISY Award Honoree Soyoung Nam, RN, ICU "Despite our different culture and backgrounds, nurse Soyoung has shown her compassion towards my grandfather, our family, and her job. As a family member or a patient you never quite know what to expect during a hospitalization. My grandfather and I have spent a considerable amount of time at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center San Pedro and recently in the ICU. Interacting with Soyoung, I witnessed the best and most compassionate nurse who truly loves her job and reflects the meaning of a wonderful nurse. I am truly thankful from the bottom of my heart. The teamwork I witnessed between Soyoung, Arnel and the other ICU nurses stood out as to why the ICU is a positive place to be and is reflected in why patients improve under their care."
