UCLA Health
Providence's partnership with UCLA Health is twofold. One aspect
involves UCLA Health specialists for obstetrics, gastroenterology,
pulmonology, and cardiology opening practices in the community
and joining the staff of Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical
Centers San Pedro and Torrance.
The second aspect has been ongoing for several years with UCLA
Health transferring patients who have had a lung, heart, or liver
transplant to Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center
San Pedro for highly specialized care.

Engagement
We have hosted two COVID-19 Community Updates.
The first featured Garr y Olney, Chief Executive, Anita Sircar, MD,
Infectious Disease Specialist, and Jo Vournas, MD, Emergency
Department physician and addressed the early stages of the

On October 7th, Anita Sircar, MD and Alex Hakim, MD, ICU Intensivist,
provided an update on the status of the pandemic in our community
as well as the treatment protocols and research studies Providence
Little Company of Mar y Medical Center Torrance is participating in

Growth and Focus on our Acute
Care Centers of Excellence and
Clinical Institutes
While the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the patient volumes
at both medical centers we continue to focus on growth of our
Acute Care Centers of Excellence (ACCE). Both ministries continue
to execute on our ACCE strategies in partnership with the Clinical
Institutes to grow and offer the highest level of complex care in our
community.
