Unfortunately, that can sometimes make us hesitant to admit to our own mental health struggles. Brian Johnson, chaplain and wellness consultant PROVIDENCE | ESG REPORT | 27 MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORTING OUR CAREGIVERS No One Cares Alone: Redefining support for health care workers Health worker burnout is a national crisis, according to Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, M.D. But data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that supportive workplaces can make a big difference in caregiver well-being. Providence's No One Cares Alone (NOCA) program is a response to these calls to action. The program provides important tools and resources to support our caregivers' mental health and well-being. NOCA programs include: Primary prevention: educational resources to raise awareness and lower stigma around caregiver mental health issues Secondary prevention: proactive outreach to identify and support caregivers who may be at elevated risk Skilled assistance: professional services to help address mental health concerns for caregivers and families who are struggling acutely Core leader outreach: supporting leaders with their own difficulties and strengthening their ability to support the mental and spiritual wellness of their teams n SOCIAL IMPACT + 2,107 core leader consultations completed + 43,503 caregivers reached
