5 Caregiver, Physician and Volunteer Spotlights Our Caregiver Spotlight shines on Anita A., Food and Nutrition Services Cashier at Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center San Pedro since 2007. "I chose to work at PLCMMCSP because of the people. I enjoy helping others, putting a smile on someone's face and making their day. " When I am not working, you can find me watching and cheering on the LA Rams football team. Go Rams!" Our Caregiver Spotlight also shines on Mario Garcia, Lead Cook in the Honda Café at Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center Torrance (PLCMMCT) since 2011. "I chose to work at PLCMMCT because it was a new experience for me to work in a hospital setting. I enjoy working here ever y day because all the caregivers, doctors, visitors, and patients I encounter are friendly and courteous." Mario goes above and beyond to provide quality and appealing dishes for ever y patron that visits the Honda café. He exudes a gentle and warm manner while working as quickly as possible, knowing many caregivers are on their breaks; and is a true example of living the Providence Mission and Core Values. Mario has risen to ever y occasion during our latest COVID-19 surge, handling the additional volume of food orders with the same devotion and professionalism. Our Physician Spotlight shines on Avreeta Singh, MD, orthopedic surgeon, at Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center Torrance (PLCMMCT). "I specialize in the hand and upper extremity, which are essential for carr ying out many daily activities and interacting with the world around us. Injur y to the upper extremity can significantly affect how you go about your daily routine, possibly even limiting you from doing the activities you love." "I am a member of the Coastal Orthopedic Group in Torrance and proud to be on staff at PLCMMCT alongside a care team that strives to provide excellent care for patients in a compassionate and comprehensive environment." Our Volunteer Spotlight shines on Qwen Lee, volunteer for Food and Nutrition Services at Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center Torrance for the past 10 years. "I choose to volunteer my time here because we are always so busy, and I feel like it is a good fit for me to spend my time giving back. I like working here because I enjoy keeping the Honda Cafe clean for the employees and visitors to enjoy their meals. I also love the food myself!"
