IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO HELP YOU
PREPARE FOR SURGERY DURING THE
COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Last Updated: 11/24/2020
You are scheduled to have a surgery or procedure soon at one of our Providence locations.
Your safety is our highest priority, especially because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We need your help to keep you safe. Here are steps we ask you to take:
SELF ISOLATE
WEAR A MASK
& KEEP YOUR
DISTANCE
AVOID
GROUPS
It is very important that you
isolate yourself before your
surgery or procedure to help
prevent you from getting infected
with COVID-19.
This means staying at home and
seeing only the people in your
household for 14 days.
If you must see anyone outside of
your household, stay outside at
least six feet away from them.
You should wear a mask, and so
should they.
Being around groups of people
increases the risk of getting
infected with COVID-19.
WASH YOUR
HANDS OFTEN
AVOID PUBLIC
TRANSPORTATION
(Bus, Taxi, Uber /
Lyft, etc.)
AVOID THE
GROCERY STORE,
PHARMACY &
RESTAURANTS
Ask friends or family to shop for
you or consider using a
delivery service.
Avoid household
members who
are sick
Get a
COVID-19 test
before surgery
as instructed
Call your
doctor if you
start
feeling sick.
If anyone in your house starts
feeling sick (fever, headache, loss
of taste or smell, nausea,
diarrhea, etc.), stay away from
them in a separate room.
Do not share bedrooms,
bathrooms, living areas or kitchen
areas with anyone who is sick.
You'll need to get a
COVID-19 test prior to your
surgery.
See the additional pages of
this handout for instructions.
Call your doctor if you have any
of the following:
• Fever
• Cough
• Shortness of Breath
• Lost of taste or smell
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
