As we reflect on 2020 we realize that, while it was not the year we were expecting, the resilience our caregivers, nurses, physicians, and volunteers displayed was remarkable; once again, the difference you've made has allowed us to rise above these unsettled times. Notable milestones Our South Bay medical centers celebrated notable milestones of dedication and loving service to our South Bay communities in 2020. Providence Little Company of Mar y Medical Center Torrance celebrated 60 years and our San Pedro celebrated 94 years. While the physical appearance of our medical centers has changed over the years, the commitment to our mission of providing high-quality care with compassion, remains at the heart of all we do. We are honored to carr y forward the traditions of our founding Sisters and continue their life-saving work. Our promise: "Know me, care for me, ease my way " continues to guide our future. Despite the many challenges the COVID-19 pandemic created, we were able to successfully navigate those obstacles and persevere. Some notable successes include our Torrance ministry being recognized as a World 's Best Hospital two years in a row and a BEST HOSPITAL in the state (according to the US News and World Report). In addition, both San Pedro and Torrance ministries receiving an "A" grade from the Leapfrog Group (considered the gold standard of patient safety) for SEVEN rating periods in a row (over three years), and San Pedro received the Lown Institute's Best Hospital for America designation for it 's value of care, racial and economic inclusivity among other factors. That is just outstanding work! Keeping you informed In an effort to keep our caregivers and community informed during these challenging times, we provided regular COVID-19 updates for caregivers and the community. I also host monthly Chief Executive Town Hall Caregiver meetings, three sessions-a-day; as well as physician-led virtual "community updates" on our social media platforms. Garr y Olney, Chief Executive Providence Little Company of Mar y
