Health Matters: Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center | 3 Providing Support Throughout The New Parent Journey W elcoming a new life into the world is an extraordinary event, filled with anticipation, joy and perhaps a level of anxiety. That's why Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, a leader in maternal health care, is dedicated to offering a full spectrum of support before, during and after pregnancy. Designed with comfort and convenience in mind, our state-of-the-art Women's Pavilion provides comprehensive care with compassionate caregivers who are dedicated to ensuring the healthiest beginnings for both mothers and babies. This includes a high level of collaboration between our obstetricians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, certified nurses and lactation consultants. It also includes family-focused educational classes covering pregnancy, childbirth, baby care and parenting. A TAILORED BIRTH PLAN Once parents-to-be select an obstetrician- gynecologist (OB-GYN) as their partner through pregnancy and delivery, we help them craft a birth plan that reflects their preferences. And the plans are flexible enough so they can be changed as circumstances and wishes warrant. Should the unexpected occur, we offer reassurance with our Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), which is consistently ranked in the top 10% in the nation. It is prepared to handle any situation, focusing on the safety and well- being of mother and baby. But preparing for a baby goes beyond medical care. That's why we offer tours and classes to support expectant parents before birth and into baby 's first year. CHILDBIRTH FACILITIES TOURS We offer free, virtual or in-person tours to explore our childbirth facilities and learn about the services designed to enhance the birthing experience. We walk expectant parents through the entire delivery process and answer questions to help them feel as comfortable and prepared as possible. CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION CLASSES We hold an online childbirth preparation course led by a certified childbirth educator. The course is designed to empower parents with the knowledge and skills needed for a positive birthing experience. It covers a variety of topics, including controlled breathing, relaxation techniques, prenatal testing, labor and delivery, recovery and newborn care. ADDITIONAL CLASSES: Infant Safety & CPR: Led by experienced instructors, this online class is available for a nominal fee.
