4 | Health Matters: Providence St. Jude Medical Center Personal training Sometimes the easiest way to start improving is working with a personal fitness specialist. Our fitness experts hold multiple certifications in areas from cardiac fitness and healthy aging to yoga therapy and arthritis- improvement exercises. While many of our clients love the camaraderie offered by group exercise, working one-on-one with a fitness specialist can help increase accountability and accelerate progress. Eating well Food is medicine, and our dietitians are experts in using nutrition to improve chronic conditions, reduce symptoms, and maximize energy. Our programs are designed to help take your knowledge to a new level. We provide coaching, meal planning, grocer y shopping with a nutritionist, cooking classes … and we can even give your favorite recipes a makeover, making them both tasty and healthy. We also offer two functional health programs that utilize the science of lab data to give you more detailed and personalized nutrition recommendations. GI Revive is designed for those experiencing IBS, SIBO, constipation, weight loss resistance, migraines, or even brain fog. We use the GI-MAP Lab Test to help identify problematic bacteria, fungi, and parasites, and assess intestinal health markers. Hormone Balance targets common hormonal imbalances in women, including adrenal fatigue, excessive cortisol and stress hormones, menopause, irregular cycles, anxiety, and hormone disruptions from cancer treatment or other causes. The DUTCH Test offers insight into root causes by assessing sex and adrenal hormones, along with their metabolites. Want to get an idea of the useful, expert nutritional advice offered by our dietitians? Watch this short video to learn how to use cottage cheese to make a healthy pesto sauce and a delicious, high-protein cookie dough— meant to be eaten (without guilt) straight from the fridge.
