How do I apply to the Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program? • Interested applicants should start by applying to the CNA course through Kodiak College. Contact Barbara Brown at 907.486.1211 or bebrown@alaska.edu for more information about the application. The Kodiak College application could take several weeks to complete, so don't delay! Applications to the CNA course through Kodiak College are due Nov. 28. • If selected, you'll be invited to schedule an in-person interview with Kodiak College and Providence between Dec. 3 and 5. You'll be given instructions on how to apply to the Earn While You Learn trainee position with Providence as part of your interview slot. • To participate, candidates must be accepted to the CNA course through Kodiak College and the Earn While You Learn trainee position with Providence. Onboarding with Providence can take up to 6 weeks. When does the Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program start and end? • The target start date for the Earn While You Learn position with Providence is January 16, 2023. You should expect to participate in New Employee Orientation on that date. • Class with Kodiak College begins on January 17, 2023. • The last day of the semester with Kodiak College is May 6, 2023. Plan some additional time after the end of the semester to prepare for and take your state CNA exam. Will I be paid while in the Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program? • Yes! You will be paid bi-weekly at a competitive rate for the time you spend in class and clinicals- about 140 hours over the course of the semester. Participants will be paid the same rate of pay. The earn while you learn program is not a full-time role and does not include benefits. • Full-time roles may be available depending on your qualifications and current open positions. If interested, please contact Lori Mann (lori.mann@providence.org) or discuss with your Providence interviewers during your interview. Can I participate in the Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program if I am currently employed at a Providence facility in Kodiak? • Please talk with your core leader and Lori Mann (lori.mann@providence.org) if you currently work for Providence and are interested in participating. What does the Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program cost? • The Earn While You Learn CNA Training Program is free of charge for selected participants.
