Chief Executive Caregiver Experience Advisory Council Updates
Helping us care for you
For more than a year, our Chief Executive Experience Advisory Council has been reaching out and
listening to you, our caregivers. Working together, the changes we've been able to make, and the
scope of our accomplishments, have positively impacted the work we do as a team and the care
we provide to our patients and our community.
We look forward to continuing our
work with you and are pleased to
share the following updates:
SAN PEDRO MINISTRY
Concern: Needed a system for pre-
ordering meals before grill closes
Solution: Extended grill closing until
2:30pm in lieu of pre-ordering system
Concern: Incentive bonuses needed
to be equalized between San Pedro
and Torrance for covering shifts/
callbacks
Solution: Human Resources now
has included San Pedro in the
incentive form
Concern: Medication check
countertops in pharmacy were
showing a lot of wear-and-tear
Solution: The pharmacy counter
tops have been repaired
TORRANCE MINISTRY
Concern: Need for break room space
for pharmacy staff
Solution: Pharmacy lounge has been
established on 1st floor by Main T. A
table is being placed currently with
flooring, more furniture, refrigerator
and microwave to be installed by the
end of August
Concern: CHE Caregiver entrance is
not well secured and easily pried open.
Solution: Repairs have been made to
prevent door from being able to be
pried open
Concern: Lack of timely transport
of bariatric beds due to out-of-order
service elevator
Solution: Elevator has been repaired.
PCU Charge nurse Caitlyn has been
recognized for her help while the
problem was being resolved
Concern: MRI equipment needed
assessment for repairs
Solution: After review with Imaging
and Biomed, equipment identified for
service was repaired and returned to
the ICU
Concern: Lunch break relief
caregivers were having issues finding
parking, which made them late for
their relief shifts
Solution: Use of valet parking was
approved for these caregivers
SAN PEDRO AND TORRANCE
MINISTRIES
Concern: Desire for healthier food
options in cafeterias.
Solution: A variety of healthier food
options has been introduced on
weekly menus. These healthier items
can be identified with visual symbols
for heart-healthy, vegan, low carb, etc.
Concern: "Dare to Compare" cafeteria
flyers were too small and didn't
include sales tax for real comparisons
Solution: Flyers were made larger
and included sales tax for easy
comparison. Flyers have been posted
with this information on them
