Mission and Spiritual Care
On March 18, we celebrated St. Joseph Day system-wide. Continuing the tradition
of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange, we distributed hand-painted inspirational
prayer cards and oranges to all caregivers, along with our deep gratitude for the
extraordinary ways you demonstrate the Mission every day.

About St. Joseph Day
St. Joseph holds a special place in our histor y at
Providence St. Joseph Health. He is the namesake of the
Sisters of St. Joseph, a protector and provider for the
Sisters of Providence, and the Patron Saint of Workers.

About the Prayer Cards and artwork
Since 1989, Sister Madeleva Williams, CSJ, has
combined her paint brush with prayerful reflection to
design the annual St. Joseph Day artwork. Her designs
are treasured each year by caregivers and have been
distributed around the world. Scan the QR code to watch

About Feast Days at Providence St. Joseph Health
St. Joseph Day is one of two systemwide days of celebration we honor as a unified
ministry. On September 23, we will honor the feast day of Blessed Émilie Gamelin,
foundress of the Sisters of Providence.
