10 | Health Matters: Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Meet the Saint Joseph TAVR Doctors Newly Reopened Cardiac Rehab Fitness Center The Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation program is a medically supervised fitness center offering exercise, nutrition, medical education and support. Our newly renovated facility includes a variety of specialized medical- grade exercise equipment. Located across the street from the Hollywood Burbank Airport, the cardiac rehab fitness center can easily be accessed by patients in the San Fernando Valley. Individualized, diagnosis-specific exercise programs allow patients to focus on improvement of strength, endurance, balance and agility. Our staff provides excellent care for a variety of health issues such as heart, vascular, lung, diabetes, cancer, kidney, liver, bariatric, pre and post physical therapy and many more. Patients are closely monitored by clinical staff consisting of nurses and exercise physiologists. Using state-of-the-art technology, staff can monitor a patient's heart rate, rhythm and blood pressure during exercise and coordinate results with the patient's care team. In addition to individual exercise prescriptions, we offer staff-instructed group exercise classes consisting of a warm-up, floor exercises, dumbbell exercises and cooldown stretches. Patients pay out of pocket for these services; however, when comparing it with an insurance-based program, pricing is very reasonable. Even a low copay of $5 per visit at an insurance-based program is equivalent to $60 per month. Patients signed up for our program are allowed an unlimited number of visits, whereas insurance-based programs limit the total number of visits. Our membership fee options are: monthly, $60; quarterly, $180; or annual, $700. Each patient pays a $60 initial evaluation fee.
