Social Media Use Among
Teens and Young Adults
Frequency of Use
More than nine in ten (93%) teen and young adult respondents report
using social media. Eighty-one percent say they are daily users of social
media, including 17% who say they use it "almost constantly" and 54%
who do so multiple times a day. Nine percent say they use it weekly,
and 2% less than that; 7% say they don't use social media at all. Most
social media users (73%) feel comfortable with the amount of time
and energy they devote to social media, but one in four (24%) say
they spend too much time and energy on it (3% say they don't devote
enough time to social media). About half (51%) of all social media
users in this age group say they have "taken a break" from social media
at some point.
