Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips speaks with COVID-19 survivor, Darrin Godin

Darrin Godin, former Providence caregiver, spent nine days in a coma on a ventilator at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange and recounts his experience with Dr. Amy Compton-Phillips and Chris Cuomo from CNN. Although he has no memory of his experience on the ventilator, he expressed his gratitude to the caregivers and communities that rallied behind him and his family during his time of need and states that he knows he wouldn’t have been able to win this fight without them. At age 44 with no underlying health conditions, it came as a shock to Darrin and his family. Dr. Compton-Phillips talks about how all populations are vulnerable to the coronavirus and notes how Darrin’s age and health condition helped him survive. Darrin and his family are spending their efforts to help Darrin recover and to pay it forward to families that are also being effected by COVID-19.
