6 Covenant Children's is proud to announce the construction of a specialized Small Baby Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) dedicated to the care of premature infants born before 32 weeks gestation. This Baby NICU offers a dedicated space that enhances our ability to deliver specialized treatment in a controlled environment. This facility will allow our medical team to respond more swi¨ly to the needs of our smallest patients, thanks to: • Lower Lighting and Noise Levels: Creating a tranquil environment that reduces stress and promotes healing. • Less Guest Foot Traffic: Minimizing disturbances and providing a calm atmosphere for sensitive newborns. • Enhanced Infection Control: Implementing strict protocols to safeguard against infections and ensure the health and safety of our patients. Covenant Children's serves more than 500 patients in our NICU annually. The establishment of the Small Baby NICU will free up capacity in our regular NICU, allowing us to accommodate and provide care for more babies in need. The addition of these nine beds brings the total number of NICU beds to more than 50. Covenant Children's Hospital remains committed to advancing neonatal care and supporting families through every step of their journey. Construction on the new Small Baby NICU is underway and is expected to be operational by January 2026. Thank you to our donors for their support of this project and all Covenant Children's services.
