Community Connection: Covenant Health | 4 We're proud to share that Covenant Medical Center has once again earned Magnet Recognition Program® from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). ANCC Magnet® is the highest and most prestigious international distinction that a healthcare organization can receive for nursing. Magnet recognition distinguishes Covenant Health from other hospitals in the areas of: • Superior nursing processes that improve nurse satisfaction and retention. • Unparalleled patient care with a direct link to positive patient outcomes • The highest levels of safety and quality, resulting in satisfaction among nurses and patients alike Even more, this redesignation included five exemplars—specific areas where our teams were recognized for going above and beyond national standards. The five exemplars include: • Falls with injury – Our focused prevention efforts are keeping patients safer. • Burns in the surgery environment – Our safety practices are helping avoid rare but serious surgical risks. • Surgical errors – We were recognized for zero serious surgical mistakes. • Hospital-acquired pressure injuries – Our care practices are reducing harm and improving healing. • Antibiotic stewardship – Our pharmacists and physicians are working together to prevent antibiotic overuse. Only about 9% of hospitals nationwide earn Magnet recognition. Achieving this status again—and with five exemplars— is a reflection of our nurses, physicians, and care teams working together with excellence and purpose. Thank you to our caregivers and support staff who make this possible every day. And thank you to our community for trusting us with your care.
