2 | Health Matters: Providence Mission Hospital Letter to the Community Seth R. Teigen, FACHE, Chief Executive Providence Mission Hospital O ne of the phrases that I frequently share with the Mission family is "Our history is rich, and our future is bright." I think it captures not only the pioneering spirit of Providence Mission Hospital, but also our profound commitment to improvement and innovation. This focus compels us to adopt innovations that improve the care we provide and the ways in which our patients and their families experience care at Providence Mission Hospital. It is also one of the reasons that we're able to attract and retain the best and brightest clinicians. Our commitment to innovation empowered us to be the first hospital in California to perform histotripsy, a noninvasive treatment that uses targeted sound waves to collapse liver tumors without making any incisions. This technology is truly lifesaving for so many patients who have inoperable liver tumors. Our ability to acquire this advanced technology is a testament to the power of philanthropy and the generosity of our community. I want to thank all the engaged members of our community whose partnership, trust and belief in our Mission made this accomplishment possible. And many thanks to our physician partners, especially Dr. Ahmad Abou Abbass and Dr. Kevin Burns, for continuing to advance our clinical excellence and the innovations we offer patients. Together we'll continue to pioneer advancements that shape the future of health care, ensuring brighter tomorrows for all those we serve.
