You can see your medications, tests results, upcoming appointments and medical bills all in one place, using the MyChart tool. You'll also be able to quickly communicate with your doctors without having to wait for a phone call. This improved interaction between patient and provider is already leading to healthier outcomes. Kang Hsu, MD, the acute care chief medical informatics officer for Providence, says he personally takes advantage of MyChart regularly. "I use it to schedule appointments and access results and health data with my phone, which saves time and keeps me up to date on my health care," Dr. Hsu says. "I believe MyChart also improves the physician-patient relationship." Another doctor who helped implement the system at Providence St. Mary is Franz Bolowich, DO, assistant medical director of emergency services. Dr. Bolowich says the transition to MyChart has gone very smoothly, thanks to staff receiving thorough training. With this new tool, providers can now go back into old medical records and review history and workups with one click.
