2 | Health Matters: Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center Letter to the Community A s we wrap up another year and look ahead to the holidays, I am grateful for my Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center family and their incredible compassion and care in serving our community. I want to thank each and every physician, caregiver and volunteer for their commitment to our hospital. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I also want to thank our donors who continue to support our expansion. Their generous contributions are so visible as we head into the final stretch of a challenging yet very exciting construction project. In this edition of Health Matters, you'll read about some of our newest technology and learn from our contributing physicians. Since November is Men's Health Awareness Month, it's the perfect time to introduce our readers to Aquablation, a new robot-assisted water-jet therapy to remove excess prostate tissue. Our urology team has performed more than 100 Aquablation procedures this year and has found it reduced recovery time with fewer complications and side effects than with traditional methods. This year we also acquired the ROSA Knee Robotic Surgical Assistant, which takes a patient's unique anatomy into consideration to precisely implant an artificial knee. Most patients go home the same day and find that recovery is easier than with other knee replacement procedures. And for parents of small children, as we head into the colder months ahead, it's always stressful wondering at what point those winter illnesses can go from mild to serious. Two of our pediatricians provide tips on when it's time to seek medical care for your kids. Finally, I wish you and your families a joyful holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year. Nick Lymberopoulos, Chief Executive Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center
