or cancer patient Mary Tun
of Westchester, receiving
chemotherapy at Providence Saint
John's Health Center is a crucial part of
her recovery. It's difficult treatment, but
she knows the people delivering her care
will ease her way.
"I am getting stronger," explains Tun,
73, who had bilateral breast surgery and
now regularly makes the hour-long trip
to Providence Saint John's to receive
infusions. The retired pharmaceutical
sales worker, who enjoys tending her
orchids and the fruit trees in her garden,
credits both the treatments and the
attentiveness and supportiveness of the
nurses and doctors for her recovery. "It's an
atmosphere of loving-kindness," she says.
