In a year marked by unprecedented challenges, Providence Holy Cross Medical Center stepped up to serve an overwhelming number of sick people. Remarkably, our providers and caregivers upheld and advanced our traditions of excellence and innovation. During this time, Providence Holy Cross is proud to have earned more national awards than ever before. We are honored that Healthgrades, a leading consumer health care site, named Providence Holy Cross among America's Top 50 Hospitals in the nation for the third straight year and presented us with its Patient Safety Excellence Award for the second year in a row. We are also proud that U.S. News & World Report named Providence Holy Cross a Best Regional Hospital and rated us as high-performing in gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, orthopedics, pulmonology and urology and for procedures and treatment for congestive heart failure, colon cancer surgery, COPD, heart attack, kidney failure, pneumonia and stroke. And we are gratified that Modern Healthcare magazine included Providence Holy Cross in its Best Places to Work in Healthcare for the third straight year. Finally, we are pleased that the American Nurses Credentialing Center redesignated Providence Holy Cross as a Magnet Hospital, the highest recognition for nursing excellence. We joined a distinguished group of 2.2% of U.S. hospitals that have achieved the four-year Magnet designation four times. Magnet hospitals are noted for empowering nurses to raise the bar on patient care through collaboration and research. Providence Holy Cross is built on an enduring mission of outreach to the poor and vulnerable and a tradition of values including excellence and compassion. As part of Providence, one of the nation's largest not-for-profit health systems, we share expertise across hospitals to ensure the best possible treatments for our patients.
