Revolutionary Knee Replacements
We are proud that Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical
Center hit a new milestone when surgeons performed a knee
replacement procedure with the most advanced robotic surgical
tool in the region — the ROSA Knee System. ROSA, which stands
for robotic surgical assistant,uses real-time information via
X-ray to assist surgeons with precise placement of
knee implants based on the patient's unique
anatomy. The system functions like a high-tech
GPS system, utilizing optical trackers and a
miniature camera attached to the patient's
leg to determine the exact position of the
knee. The robotic system adjusts to even the
slightest movement of the leg to ensure
the surgeon's plan remains on target.
