When our patients and visitors come to our facilities, we want to ensure that they aren't inadvertently exposed to chemicals that could cause harm. Reduce greenhouse gases from anesthesia emissions Regional Spotlight Dr. Brian Chesebro is a leading national voice on the environmental impact of anesthetic agents and has helped Providence clinicians shift practice to clinically safe, less expensive alternatives that reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Providence's eight hospitals in Oregon have achieved a 94-percent reduction in these anesthesia emissions, preventing 4,760 metric tons of CO from enteri ng the atmosphere every year.
