Awards & Recognition
Since 2005, Providence has partnered with Practice Greenhealth, the nation's
leader in helping health care systems decrease their impact on the environment
and build healthy workplaces and communities. Their national awards program
recognizes best practices in environmental stewardship.
In 2021, Practice Greenhealth's national awards
program recognized 23 of Providence's acute care
ministries with the Environmental Excellence Award
Providence received Practice Greenhealth's "System for
Change" award for the first time in 2021. This award
recognizes health systems that are working cohesively
to set system-wide goals, track data and benchmarks,
and share successes in environmental stewardship.
