2 | Health Matters: Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center Letter to the Community M uch has happened in our world over the past few months, and we continue to find some normal balance of life through this pandemic. Our hospital heroes continue to heal and recover from the emotional toll and stress that was placed upon them this past year. Now, while continuing to safely care for patients in a pandemic, we are focused on the most promising hope for ending this crisis: vaccinating our community. I am hopeful that in the coming months, we will be in a better place and that this pandemic might be closer to the end. As I look ahead to next year, I am excited for what's to come at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Each day we continue to see the progress on our new hospital campus and we are hopeful for what this will bring to the community. With an exceptional facility right in their backyard, Valley residents will no longer have to drive over the hill to find the best in modern health care. While the COVID-19 pandemic will be remembered for its extraordinary challenges, we also celebrate recent successes at our hospital. Tarzana Medical Center continues to receive national recognition for clinical excellence from U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades and the American Stroke Association. Additionally, we saw more than 36,000 ER visits, performed 5,000 surgeries and delivered 2,300 babies. I am hopeful for a return to our "new normal" and excited about the future of Tarzana Medical Center. While I feel we are turning the corner, there may be a few bumps along the way. The road to recovery will not be completed overnight, but as we go through that journey we will continue to grow services and programs, bring the newest in medical technology to this community and carry on our mission of serving the poor and vulnerable. Nick Lymberopoulos, Chief Executive Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center
