2 | Health Matters: Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center Letter to the Community W e have made it halfway through 2021 and many of us continue healing and recovering from the pandemic. As we move forward together in this journey, I ask that you not only reflect on the losses you may have experienced, but also celebrate the many lives that have been saved by our health care heroes at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Many of us will carry the physical, mental and emotional impacts of this pandemic for years to come, so I hope you'll take a moment now to renew your spirit. As the new chief executive for Tarzana Medical Center, I am looking forward to our future and the opportunities to continue the legacy of our medical center in this community. Over the years I have worked with many of our physicians, business leaders and community members. It has been a privilege to know so many of you. With more than 28 years of health care experience and working in a variety of leadership roles, I'm proud to lead this medical center and carry forward the $644 million "Reimagined" campus construction project. This is the single largest health care project in the history of the San Fernando Valley and will make us the preeminent hospital in the Valley and surrounding communities. With an exceptional facility right in their backyard, Valley residents will no longer have to drive over the hill to find the best in modern health care. We could not be more thankful to Don and Andrea Friese and family for their kind generosity and donation of $50 million in support of this campus project. This is the largest gift Providence Southern California has ever received, and its impact will be felt for generations. This transformative gift will provide greater local access to the best care, from cardiac medicine to pediatrics to cancer care for patients and their families. It is with the support of wonderful community members like the Friese family that we will be able to transform and build a world-class medical center. I am incredibly honored to be a part of this historic moment for Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. Thank you to the Friese family and to our community for your continued support and dedication! As we move into the future, building a state-of-the-art hospital and expanding our partnership with the Cedars-Sinai organization, I am confident that Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center will become the cornerstone of health care in this community for decades to come. Nick Lymberopoulos, Chief Executive Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center
