As the map to the right illustrates, while those facing unemployment live throughout the region, there are more neighborhoods in north and central Orange County with large percentages of people who are unemployed in cities like Anaheim and Santa Ana, as well as portions of Westminster and Cypress. The unemployment rate as of December 2018 for Orange County was 2.8 percent while the California unemployment rate was 4.1 percent. 1 There are pockets of high unemployment in many portions of northern Orange County 22.
