Lawful permanent residents account for 26 percent of immigrants in the county and those who are undocumented account for 24 percent of immigrants. In Orange County, 21 percent of children under the age of 18 have at least one undocumented parent. Regardless of status, immigrants have deep roots in Orange County. A majority (around 69 percent) of the undocumented population has been in the United States for longer than a decade. Sixty-one percent of lawful permanent residents have been in the United States for longer than a decade.
