Walker Fitting
Stand up straight with your normal shoes on.
Allow your arms and hands to rest naturally at your sides.
The walker should be at the height of your wrist.
Stand behind the walker with both feet in line with the walker's rear wheels.
If your walker is fitted properly, when you stand straight and grip the walker handles your arms should
be slightly bent at your elbows approximately 20 to 30 degrees.
Long Handled Grabber/Reacher
Reaching down can be done with a long handled reacher. A long handled reacher is used for dressing the
lower part of your body, allowing you to slip clothing over your feet without bending over. It's also quite
useful for retrieving items from the floor. You can also utilize BBQ tongs, or long kitchen tongs, a
"golfer's lift" or ask for help.
