Providence Holy Cross Medical Center was named today to the 2016 "150 Great Places to Work in Healthcare" list compiled by Becker's Healthcare.
With approximately 2,000 employees and nearly 600 physicians on staff, Providence Holy Cross was recognized for workplace excellence, as well as the benefits offered, wellness initiatives and efforts to improve professional development, diversity and inclusion, work-life balance and a sense of community among employees.
“We are a family,” said Bernard Klein, M.D., the hospital’s chief executive. “Providence Holy Cross has a strong culture of teamwork, collaboration and support for one another. This spirit of working together to serve our patients and their families is engrained and quite visible throughout the hospital.”
The camaraderie has paid off. Providence Holy Cross has been awarded the Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence Award for the past three years, ranking it among the top 5 percent of the nation’s hospitals for quality. It also is the only Magnet Hospital serving the San Fernando and Santa Clarita valleys, a national designation acknowledging nursing excellence.
The Becker’s list features both U.S. health care provider organizations, such as hospitals, health systems, ambulatory surgical centers and home health agencies, as well as other types of healthcare-specific companies, including consulting firms, health information technology vendors and medical societies. This list has been published every year since 2011.
The Becker's Healthcare editorial team determined the organizations included on this year's list. Organizations that submitted nominations were considered, as were organizations that received national, state or local recognition previously earned for workplace excellence.
