Surgery changes announced for Providence

December 3, 2020 Providence News Team

Due to the dramatic surge in COVID cases over the past few weeks, there will be temporary limits on surgeries and invasive procedures starting Dec. 3. This applies to both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Providence hospitals in the Portland and Newberg areas. Currently, we are performing the following:

1.  Emergent and urgent surgery

2.  Procedures that cannot be deferred for 4-6 weeks without significant risk to life or limb

3.  Urgent vascular, cardiac and cancer surgery

These restrictions do not apply at this time to Providence hospitals in Seaside, Hood River and Medford. We will keep you updated as situations change.
