The innovative partnership will increase access to care and offer a seamless patient experience

Providence St. Joseph Health today announced a partnership with One Medical, the leading member-based, technology-enabled modern primary care provider. This partnership provides Providence St. Joseph Health the opportunity to expand its primary care access in the community while offering patients continuity of care if they need to access specialty and hospital care at a Providence St. Joseph Health facility.

“Providence St. Joseph Health is the largest health care provider in Southern California, offering comprehensive, high-quality and compassionate care close to where people live and work. This partnership is part of our commitment to ensuring our community members get the right care at the right place at the right time,” said Erik G. Wexler, chief executive, Providence St. Joseph Health, Southern California.

This partnership will allow One Medical to better coordinate primary and specialty services for members in Southern California. The One Medical clinics will operate using the company’s membership-based primary care model, offering patients same-day appointment scheduling, unlimited secure messaging with providers, free 24/7 on-demand virtual care and a commitment to on-time appointments and more time with providers.

“Partnerships like this one are part of our organization’s plan to transform for the future and advance our vision of health for a better world,” continued Wexler.

One Medical cares for patients through personal memberships, as well as through employer agreements, partnering with employers in a variety of industries across the United States to deliver primary care services to employees. In Southern California, One Medical has five offices in Los Angeles. One Medical’s approach prioritizes primary care designed to fit real life, offering its members same-day access to care where they work and live.

Providence St. Joseph Health is targeting to launch this partnership next month in Los Angeles. Providence St. Joseph Health also is partnering with One Medical in Seattle, Wash.

“One Medical’s collaboration with Providence St. Joseph Health, one of the nation’s premier health networks, will allow us to work together to deliver high-quality health care experiences to more people in Southern California. As we collaborate to streamline primary and specialty care services, we look forward to advancing overall health outcomes together, keeping our communities healthy and happy,” said Amir Dan Rubin, One Medical’s president and CEO.
