Michael Beck will lead strategy and operations for Mission Hospital Laguna Beach
April 12, 2016, Mission Viejo, CA - Michael Beck has been selected as Mission Hospital’s new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), leading strategy and operations for Mission Hospital Laguna Beach.
In his new role, Beck will be responsible for overall planning, development, coordination, implementation and management of all administrative functions, services and business development for the Laguna Beach campus. He will ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care consistent with the mission and values of St. Joseph Health resulting in patient care at Laguna Beach reaching the highest levels of quality and service.
“Michael will have an integral role in the expansion of our Mental Health & Wellness service line, as well as being the ministry's liaison to the Laguna Beach community,”said Dr. Richard Afable, chief executive of St. Joseph Hoag Health and interim chief executive of Mission Hospital.
Tarek Salaway, chief operations officer of Mission Hospital adds, “Michael will strategically lead our Laguna Beach campus to meet the ever changing, dynamic health care needs of the Laguna Beach community and our neighboring communities by proactively anticipating change and implement new programs or processes to ensure success.”

Beck has been with Mission Hospital since 1992 in a variety of roles, including VP Quality and VP of Operations in Laguna Beach. He holds degrees from Abilene Christian University and the University of Oklahoma, and accreditations including Certified Professional in health care Quality status by the Healthcare Quality Certification Board.
