Breast cancer patients and survivors receive makeovers as part of Mission Hospital and Valiant Women’s Breast Health Wall of Honor

Throughout the month of October, Mission Hospital Valiant Women will host the THINK PINK
Breast Health Wall of Honor to create awareness for the importance of mammograms and raise
funds to support diagnostic care and treatment.

Thirty-six breast cancer patients and survivors will receive makeovers during the month of October in conjunction with Mission Hospital and Valiant Women’s Breast Health Wall of Honor. Mission Hospital is partnering with Toni & Guy to provide rejuvenating hair treatments and pampering makeup consultations.

Five-year breast cancer survivor Lynn Lindborg decided this was the perfect opportunity for a haircut. Lynn’s been growing her hair for five years, ever since it all fell out following a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation. “I absolutely love my new look and it felt so good to get that old hair cut off,” said Lynn.

Lynn shared that the event was also special for current breast cancer patients. “While I was at Toni & Guy, I met a woman who was recently diagnosed. She was so nervous about the journey ahead of her, and yet comforted and encouraged by our stories of strength and hope. The staff at Toni & Guy is amazing and made each one of us feel extra special.”

In its fourteenth consecutive year, the Wall of Honor encourages community members to honor
breast cancer patients and survivors through a beautiful collection of tributes, located near Nordstrom at The Shops at Mission Viejo. The event helps to create awareness of the importance of mammograms and raises funds to support diagnostic care and treatment for breast cancer.

This year’s Wall of Honor features a digital wall with four large screen monitors that display honor cards and social media posts with inspirational messages and patient stories. To post your social media message on the Wall of Honor be sure to tag it with #wallofhonor, #valiantwomen or #thinkpink.

Valiant Women is thrilled to welcome Volvo Mission Viejo and Infiniti of Mission Viejo as the title
sponsors and thank The Shops at Mission Viejo for their ongoing support. The next time you are in the mall, look for the bright pink Infiniti and Volvo cars at the display.
