DATE FEBRUARY 21, 2017, San Clemente High School, CA. Mission Hospital, part of St. Joseph Health, in collaboration with the Wellness & Prevention Center of San Clemente, is pleased to offer a six week workshop for teens called, “Tools for Young People to Deal with Stress”
“This six week workshop is specifically designed to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T). This workshop teaches mindfulness through breathing, body awareness exercises, and meditation.” explains Marci Mednick with Mission Hospital. “Mission Hospital’s primary goal is first and foremost to serve our community and improve the quality of life of those in our own neighborhoods. Adolescence can be a difficult time for teens and this unique program will help give them some valuable tools to help navigate the years ahead.”
Mission Hospital has partnered with local expert, Dr. Stacie Cooper, Psy.D, an Adolescent Life Coach and Mindfulness Instructor, to bring several important topics to light every Tuesday for six weeks, starting February 21, 2017. This workshop will provide perspective to help young people recognize and manage their emotions, handle challenging situations, and lay the foundation for positive relationships and academic success.
